He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Pakela and Elizabeth Pakela (Thorton); his wife Patricia Pakela (Serafin); and his children, Donald Kennedy, Diane Kennedy Olowinski and Sandra Gaskin.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah "Debbie" Bongiorno, Patty Bishop (Drew), Douglas Kennedy (Missy) of Erie and Mark Bishop (Rhona) of Erie; his brother Thomas Pakela; and his niece Aimee Pakela.
