He was predeceased by: his parents, George F. Palmer and Margaret Wagner Palmer; his son David Palmer; his grandson Andrew Boyd; his great grandchild Tucker Dodd; and his brothers, Frederick, John, George and Glenn Palmer.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Goodman; his children, Dan Palmer (Dawn) of Olean, NY., Wes Palmer (Kim) of Erie, Melanie Palmer of New Mexico and Rhonda Smith (Frank) of Wellsville, NY.; and his sisters, Norma Allegretto (Eugene) of Bradford, Jean Harris of Wellsboro and Becky O'Brien of Eldred. He is also survived by 13 grand-children; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Mental Health Association of Cattaraugus County or donor's choice.
