It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Spong of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, born in Crosby, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 25, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Ruter and Viva Ruter (Stiles); and her siblings, Frankie, Ed, Chet Ruter, Eva Robinson and Jane Kniffin.
She is survived by: her husband Raymond L. Spong; her children, Michael R. Spong (Cindy) and Cathy Troy (Rolly) of Coudersport; her grandchildren, Jowana Spong of Bethesda, MD and Michael J. Spong (Jen) of Westfield; and her sisters-in-law, Madeline Ruter of Painted Post, NY and Marguerite York of Allegany, NY. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
