She was predeceased by: her parents, James Moses Nelson and Lorah Helen Williams Nelson; her husband Clarence "Buddy" Smith; her daughter Susan K. Adger; and her siblings, Ruthann Crabb, Doris Lett, Mary Byers, Helen Townsend, James, Ernest, Robert, William and Donald Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Clarence A. Smith III, Darlene L. Smith, Cheryl M. Young (Samuel), Wendy C. Minor (Phillip) and Micah L. Smith (Molly); and her sisters, Viola Benson, Gloria McCrary, Virginia Gresham and Ella Louise Lawrence. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family members and friends.
