He was predeceased by: his parents, Newton Sheppard and Minnie Sheppard (Litton); his siblings, Mary Ellen Ressler and Newton Sheppard Jr.; his grandson Colton Wood; and his stepdaughter Jacki Everett.
He is survived by: his wife Suzanne B. Sheppard; his children, William Sheppard, Jr. (Virginia) and Linda Woods (Gary); his stepchildren, Jody Jones (Kevin) and Allen Guiles (Lori); and his siblings, Ginny Sheppard and Dennis Sheppard. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy House in William's name.
