She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin J. Barton and Ida Barton (Jay); her former husband Bob Mentzer; her husband Marlin E. "Beanie" Black; her son Daryl Mentzer; and her brothers, John and Ralph Barton.
She is survived by: her daughters, Darlene K. Peters (Charles) of Fayetteville, PA and Cathy A. Thomas (John) of Chambersburg, PA; her grandchildren, Jessica Ann Thomas, Erik Peters and Jeremy Peters; her great grandchildren, Dylan Peters, Samantha Thomas and Michael Thomas; and her sister Velma Akers (Gary) of Chambersburg. She is also survived by step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center (333 Falling Spring Rd, Chambersburg, PA 17202). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at the Parklawns Memorial Gardens (3218 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201).
