He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel J. Gottfried and Mildred C. Schmerein Gottfried; his wife Candace R. "Candy" Burgner Gottfried; and his siblings, Chris A. Oyler, David A. and William D. Gottfried.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Pfund (Duane) of Annapolis, MD and Travis Gottfried of Chambersburg; his grandsons, Jack and Jordan Pfund of Annapolis; his siblings, Victoria A. Reeve, John R. Gottfried (Stephanie), Paul R. Gottfried and Daniel D. Gottfried (Elsa); and his mother-in-law Mary B. Engle. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
