She was predeceased by: her husband John Averill; and her sister Betsy Hammond. She is survived by: her children, John Averill, Jr. (Roseann), Mark Averill (Eileen), Susan Baker (Bryant), Lisa Rapone (Frank) and Nancy Black (Brian); her siblings, Kathleen Smith (Joe), Margie Shuda (Jim), Charles Hannan (Jackie) and Nancy Suarez; and her brother-in-law Joe Suarez. She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren.
