He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley Ann Shafer (Hess); his parents, George Shafer and Katherine Shafer (Haas); and his brother Carl Haas. He is survived by: his children, Charles Shafer Jr. (Melissa), Brenda Hennessey (Charles), Wanda Trout (David) and Cindy Little (John); his grandchildren, Mark, James, John, Jamie, Daniel and Tyler; his great grandchildren, Willow, Sophia, Cole and Bryce; and his sister Shirley Spiese.
