She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Marsden Spence of Titusville, PA.; her brother Frederick Dale Shaffer; and her granddaughter Katherine Spence Helms. She is survived by: her children, Linda Helms (D. Michael) of Beaver, PA and Rev. Timothy Spence (Laurie Glover) of Punxsutawney, PA; her granddaughters, Jennifer Helms Shaffer (John, Sr.) of Hermitage, PA and Elizabeth Helms Swarthout (Conner) of Murrieta, CA.; her great grandchildren, Titus, Rowan Swarthout, John, Jr. and Joseph Shaffer; her brother Lyle R. Shaffer (Nancy) of Church Hill, TN; her cousins, Thomas Carroll (Maria), Patti Messner of Bulger, PA and Emogene Doverspike (Shaffer Weaver) of Idaho; her nieces and nephews, William Shaffer (Sonia) of Cocoa, FL, Keith Murray of Rochester, NY, Barbara Ives, Jane Hayes of Titusville, PA, Beverly Wallwork, Marsha Bernstein of Rochester, NY and Marilyn Green (Michael); her sister-in-law Treva Murray (Spence) of DuBois, PA; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Olivia, Natalie Shaffer, Eric Ives, David, Brian Green and Brett Wallwork; and also Linda of Oakdale, PA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Beaver, the Worthville Cemetery Association, or to the Beaver Area Memorial Library.
