He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Ruth Coy (LaMar); his son Matthew Aaron Coy; his brother Lyle; his sister-in-law Joann Coy; his sister Karen; and his siblings-in-law, Ron Pennington and Casey Coy.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Eve Martin, Tyler Coy, Emily Martin and Jasmine Martin; his wife Beverly; his children, Neil Coy, Jr. (Amy), Crystal Ricard (Jason), Teresa Smith, Daniel Howard (Cindy) and Michael Howard (Amy); and his brother Kevin. He is also survived by grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
