He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Merritt, and Margaret Ann Merritt, Sr. (Gucker). He is survived by: his wife Janice Merritt (Kmiecik); his children, Gilbert Merritt, III (Sondra) and Danielle Evansic (Leonard); his grandchildren, Mary, Abigail and LJ; and his sister Marjorie Platt (Robert).
