He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ignacio "Jack" and Maria Echanis; his daughter Annette Echanis (Matt Cooper) of Pennsylvania; and his grandchildren, Hannah Cooper and Cole Cooper of Seattle, WA. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his honor to the National Alzheimer's Association.
