She is survived by: her husband Thurman McDowell; and her children, Kathy Stanfield of Cornelius, Margaret (Vernon Perdew), Mike Hightower of Salem and Kandie (Jim Smith). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
