He was predeceased by: his daughter Gayl Sharpes Nelson. He is survived by: his parents, Marion Sharpes and Helen Sharpes; his brother David Sharpes; and his children, Karen Sharpes Wu (Zhen Wu) and Tye Sharpes (Hollie Sharpes). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, founders of the wall.
