He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Oates and Erma Peers Oates of Dee Oregon; his siblings, Mary Jane Oates Dethman and Don Oates; his wife Marjorie Frisbie; his close friend Floyd Dethman; and his children, Greg (Shelley Oates), Mike (Kathy Oates) and Margaret (Robert Godard). He was also cherished by eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
