He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thorpe and Ollie Thorpe (Payne); his wife Attelia Pohlemann; and his brothers, Joe Thorpe, William Thorpe and Jack Thorpe.

He is survived by: his children, Beth Mohr (Robert) and Ernie Thorpe; his grandchildren, Christoffer Mohr, Annie Mohr and Emma Thorpe; and his great grandchild Henry Mohr.
