It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Thomas Abernathy (Waurika, Oklahoma), who passed away on February 21, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Abernathy (Leipold) and Louis Abernathy; and his sister Louise Foskett. He is survived by: his wife Mary Woods Abernathy; his brother John Abernathy of Lawton; his children, Chad Abernathy of Waterloo, Tim (Lisa Adkins) of Waurika, Kim Henderson of Waurika, Jennifer (Shawn Aldridge) of Waurika and Mollye (Adam Tribbey) of Marlow; and his grandchildren, Josh (Brandi Henderson), Jed Henderson, Jessica (Michael Cornelison), Lucas (Lauren Coody), Hannah (Brian Harper), Mallory Adkins and Chloe Adkins. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
While we all thought it was a longshot that he could donate because he used his body to the fullest, his family is honored to share that even in death, our Charlie is continuing to be a hero through his LifeShare organ donation.
