He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clell "Bill" Melton and Dorothy Winona Melton (Pennell); his wives, Carolyn and Patti Melton; his daughter Shelly Dawn Long; and his siblings, Billy Melton, Keith Melton, Karl Melton and Linda Cheryl Bassett.
He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda Lucas (Tim) of Miami; his grandchildren, Casey "Bronc" Smith, Ty Smith, Nolan Long (Bryce), Kyle Lucas, Kristen Lucas (Patrick Ferris), Kaleb Lucas (Nicole Kelly), Kolton Lucas (Jesse Lee) and Konnor Lucas (Brooke Grimes); his great grandchildren, Myka Jo Smith, Hayden Layne Smith, Hyley Lucas, Olivea Lucas, Vincent, Carter Lucas, Kane Lucas, Maddox Lucas, Aiden Kelly and Aiden Grimes; his siblings, Jack Melton (Willa) of Vinita, Jolene Hicks of Vinita, Joyce Mayo (Gilbert) of Muskogee and Terry "Whitey" Melton (Sue) of Vinita; and his friend Dana Warner.
