He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rowan and Geneva Rowan (Taylor); his former wife Betty Jean Rowan (Slaughter); his wife Oleta Rowan (Fennell); and his stepdaughters, Barbara Asbil and Patricia Koch.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Dylan Rowan, Kenny Smith, Bradley Lappin and Bobby Asbil; and his children, Emmit, Jr., Roy Rowan (Dawn), Travis Rowan (Melissa) and Linda Morgan. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
