With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nita Butler of Stillwater, Oklahoma, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 23, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, Nita shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Nita farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Paonessa Sr. and Helen Mignano Paonessa; her brother Michael Paonessa; and her husband Jim Butler. She is survived by: her brother Joe Paonessa Jr. of Canton, OH; her children, John Butler of Norman, OK, Joe Butler (Michelle) of Forney, TX and Jenni Machala (James) of Stillwater, OK; and her grandchildren, Tanner Robinson, Makenzie Robinson of Stillwater, OK and Melayna Butler of Forney, TX..

“Dear family of Nita. I know she will be missed very much. I met Nita when I moved to Stillwater in 2014. We played pickle ball and talked and had all sorts of fun. Unfortunately when I moved back to Ponca we lost touch. I will always remember her purple hair and her ability to always look beautiful even in pickle ball clothes. Always remember your good times with her. Deepest sympathies and love to you all. Sherri Tate”
