He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Walter and Mary Alice Counterman (Hollister); his wife Grace Alice Edwards; his son Johnnie Edwards; his son-in-law George E Wade; his grandmother Mary Alice Hollister; and his brother Marvin LeRoy Counterman.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Mary Wade of Henderson, Texas; and his grandchildren, Shawn Hodges, Susan Kohlhaas (Stephen), John Gaddy and Shayla Wade. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
