He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Bruce and Irene Bruce (Miller); his wife Shirley Ann Moore; his daughter Caroline Hughes; his sisters, Betty and Mary; and his son-in-law Robert Whaley.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Whaley, Kathy Boynton (Mark), Ovid Brian Bruce and Orville Bruce; and his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Mary, Christy, Tracy, Roger, Lori, Sarah, Megan and Tereasa. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
