She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Bence and Pearl Bence; her great grandchild Kylie Hughes; her son Donald Carter; and her siblings, Richard Bence and Mae Reed.

She is survived by: her former husband Benjamin Reese Carter; and her husband Buddy Rogers of Marble City, OK. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
