He was predeceased by: his parents, W. E. Johnson and Minnie Johnson (Branam); and his siblings, Clifford of Afton, JD, Lester, Kenneth and Joyce.

He is survived by: his wife Marina; and his nephews, Rudy Johnson, Randy Johnson and Maurice Johnson.
