He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann Cowns; his parents, Preston Cowns and Carrollyn Cinskis (Rawson); and his siblings, Charlotte Hiddleston and Donald Cowns.

He is survived by: his children, Crystal Pahcoddy (Cowns), DeAuna Oliva (Alan), Stacey Snead (Kevin) and Shawn Hibbert; his grandchildren, Sterling Ticeahkie, Sabrina Ticeahkie, Albert Florez, Briauna Codynah, Myranda Greene, Zack Oliva, Dylan Snead and Jarrod Snead; his great grandchild Sonny Ekahutsu Villegas; and his brother Preston Cowns Jr.. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
