He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Allen Hampton and Naomi Ruth Hampton; and his brother Richard Hampton. He is survived by: his children, Heather Hampton-Whitt of Charleston, IL, Scott Hampton (Bruce) of Mattoon, IL and Sherry Walker of Mattoon, IL.; his siblings, Sondra Van-Norman (David) of Aurora, IL, Mack Hampton (Linda) of Edmond, OK and David Hampton (Susan) of Springfield, IL.; his stepdaughter Melissa Walker of Charleston, IL.; his grandchildren, Taylor Barnes of Edmond, OK, Ethan Whitt of Lindsay, OK, Nichole, Brook, David of Mattoon, IL and Damon Ochs of Charleston, IL.; his former wife Gloria Summers (late Frank Slaughter) of Charleston, IL.; and also, Peggy and Angie Jarman.
