He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Emmerson Bell and Eula Mae Bell (Webb); and his wife Nannie Jean Bell (Jordan). He is survived by: his children, Jeanna Player (Phil) of Gilmer, Texas and Michael Bell (Susan) of Dallas, Texas; his granddaughter Jessica Brown; his great grandchildren, Daniel Brown and Donovan Brown; and his nieces, Bennie Sue Martin and Pattie Jones. He is also survived by relatives and friends.

“I can't say I knew Floyd Bell well. Like most fathers, he was always working, and, also like many dads who grew up in the Great Depression and then graduated into the Second World War, he could be gruff, especially around very silly teenage boys. But it was obvious to anyone that he loved his family, and he and Nan raised two terrific human beings in Mike and Jeanna. So ... a life well-lived. We kids of the '60s and '70s were lucky to have Floyd Bell and others like him as dads. J.M. Dempsey”
