She is survived by: her husband Leslie "Frank" Kuykendall of Lindsay; her children, Tammy (Stephen Wagstaff) of Edmond, OK, Jesse (Summer Kuykendall) of Moore, OK, Jason (Deon Banoni) of Fort Worth, James Kuykendall of Lindsay, OK, Traci (Chuck Flanagan) of New Bern, N. C. and Novalean "Tinker" Owen of Lindsay, OK.; her grandchildren, Stepheny Wagstaff, Jessica King, Tyler Simms, Hailey Simms, Angelica Simms, Brennen Flanagan, Rianne Flanagan, Tad Bennett, Cheyenne Owen, Katelyn Gage and Matthew Kuykendall; and her brother Calvin Smith of Arizona. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“In loving memory of Barbara (Kuykendall) L Powell, I deeply regret not having an opportunity to meet Barbara. I would have loved to spend a day or two with her discussing the commonalities in our ancestry. I was born in Chickasha, OK and am also a descendent of Matthew Kuykendall and John Hardin (via my father's family) . My mother, also from Chickasha, was a descendent of the Alan Powell who was murdered.”
