He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Orwig and Effie Orwig (Rhea) of Enid, OK; and his siblings, Marjorie Jewett (Orwig) of Conroe, TX, Lavona Schwan (Orwig) of Wilmette, IL, Herb Orwig of Houston, TX, Richard Orwig of Dallas, TX and Anne McBride (Orwig) of Farmington, NM..

He is survived by: his granddaughter Hannah; his significant other Sara Orwig (Henson); his children, Susan Slater (Jim) of Highland Village, TX, Joe Orwig (Kristine) and Anne Richardson (Brian) of Edmond, OK.; and also, Rachel and Ellen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
