He was predeceased by: his former spouse Shirley Tucker; and his son Patrick Wade Heater. He is survived by: his wife Jennie Blackwell; his children, Gail Ann (Ron Pearson), Teresa (Steve Dyer), David (Teresa Heater) and Lawton; his daughter-in-law Judy Heater; his stepchild Kellin Blackwell; and his grandchildren, Kyle Scruggs, Chad (Kami Scruggs), Jessica (Phillip Garcia), Jeremy Heater, Justin Heater and Alyssa Blackwell (Kaleigh Blackwell). He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
