He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfred Monroe Shepherd and Bessie Irene Shepherd (Garroutte); his brother Willis Shepherd; and his nieces, Gloria Jean and Doris Elaine Shepherd.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Elaine Shepherd; his children, Kathy Henderson (Daryl) of Talala and Kenneth D. Shepherd of Houston; and his granddaughter Whitney Cameron. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and longtime friends and family members.
