It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy Dare Smallwood in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, born in Wilburton, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 4, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wiley Fletcher and Louise Fletcher (Lewis); her husband Frank Smallwood; her stepdaughter Dary Fite; her sister-in-law Beth Fletcher; and her brother George Fletcher.
She is survived by: her daughter Patricia Hankins of Hartshorne; her grandchildren, Lillian Joy Mattioda, Elisabeth Jewell Farmer and Prairie Burch; her stepdaughters, Sheila Whitcher and Flo Barlow; her brothers, Robert, William, Keith and Paul Fletcher; her sister-in-law Thelma Fletcher; her niece Crystal Coleman; her nephew Allen Fletcher; and her friend John Vermillion.
