He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary Stephens and Sammie Stephens; his brother Eric Stephens; and his nephew Brian Stephens. He is survived by: his children, Alex Stephens and Natalie Stephens of Kansas City; his brother Tony Stephens of Georgia; his sister-in-law Quita Stephens; his nephew Blake Stephens (Karin); and his nieces, Erica Henson (Isaac) and Whitney Stephens (Chris).
Left to cherish his memory, son, Alex Stephens, and daughter, Natalie Stephens both of Kansas City, one brother, Tony Stephens of Georgia, sister-in-law, Quita Stephens, nephew, Blake Stephens (Karin), nieces, Erica Henson (Isaac) and Whitney Stephens (Chris), Donations in Joel's memory may be made to his family in care of the funeral home.
