He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Franklin Kirby and Bonnie Ray Kirby; his wife Patricia Marie Cagle-Kirby; his son Robert Douglas Kirby; his granddaughter Justine Nicole Kirby; and his siblings, Jimmy Ray Metheny, Elizabeth Ann Young and Helen Lorene Woody.
He is survived by: his sons, Danny Kirby of Eufaula and James Kirby (Lori) of McLoud; and his granddaughters, Caitlin Kirby-Lee (Blake) of Owasso, Jordan Kirby-Welgemoed (Shaun) of Franklin, Tennessee, Jaime Kirby (Allison) of Tulsa and Jaclyn Kirby of McLoud. He is also survived by 3 great grandsons and 5 great granddaughters.
