He is survived by: his former wife Patricia A Whittle; his sister Rebecca Smith; his children, John D Smith (Janette), Janice D Warfield (Scott) and Ronald Jay Russell; his sister-in-law Vivian R. Smith; his nephew Elmer J. Flick; and his nieces, Mary Lynn Graybill, Waletta Newton and Dawn Tisdale. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
