He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Grelie Burkett and Grace Burkett; his grandfather Poppy; his stepfather Leroy Townsend; his son Burl Lee Burkett Jr.; his siblings, Darrell Burkett (Coony), James Burkett (Japers) and Billie Faye; his wife Carla Burkett; his children, Angie McIntosh, Tonya Smith (Steve), Scott Burkett (Cheryl), Ryan Wickersham (Stacy) and Darren Wickersham (Keisha); and his siblings, Travis Burkett, Ben Burkett, Noel Burkett, Nona Mendez, Ona Mae Strain and Eva Dean Brzier. He was also cherished by grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
