He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Jink" Mayes and Edna Mayes (Melton); and his brothers, Doug, Tommy, Larry, Benny and Jim.
He is survived by: his wife Bettie Catherine Turpin; his children, Tracy Miller, Eileen Mayes and Carolyn Green (Wade); his grandchildren, Dalton Myers (Alexis), Matt Didion, Nolan Bowers, Megan Bowers and Presley Pettijohn; his great grandchildren, Hannah "Rose" Bowers and Leland Myers; and his siblings, Ron Mayes, Mary Lou Parish, Ann Noriego and Glenda Hall.
