He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Abbott and Francis Abbott; his sister Nancy Abbott Findley; and his stepson Terry Edward Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Thompson Abbott (Peyton); and his children, Donna Abbott Hardy (Jim) of Independence and Keith Abbott (Dawn) of Lee's Summitt, Missouri.
