He was predeceased by: his father L. Knox Payne; and his brother Willam C. Payne. He is survived by: his wife Marialice; and his children, Letia Kristin Crawson, Delissa Jo Payne, Jennifer Ann Smith, Robert Knox Payne, Jr., William David Payne and James Michael Barlow. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
