He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Helen Essex; his children, Anthony Clinesmith (Jill), Charles Walton (Janice), Florence Miers (Ernest), Christina Essex Martin and Opal Thomas (Jody); and his siblings, James Essex (Janice), Shirley Tockey (Phillip) and Nina Johnson (Kermit). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
