He was predeceased by: his mother Flossie Lail; his nephew Joshawa Ray Shelton; and his niece Treva Buchanan. He is survived by: his fiancée Sherry Loveless; his son Dakota Lynn Buchanan; his grandchildren, Hannah, Jayden, Jasper, Azalea and Jude Gorham; his daughter Krystal Gorham (Nathan); his siblings, David Wayne Buchanan (Jacqueline), Lily Ward, Barry Thompson and Clairessa Shelton (Don); his father David Wayne Buchanan; and his nephews, David Wayne Buchanan Jr., Jeremy and Jered Shelton. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Sevier Funeral Home to help the family cover the costs of the services.
