He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Billie Jo; his daughter Catherine; his parents, John Franko and Mary Franko; his brother Edward; his children, John, Stephen, William and Melissa; and his brother Richard.
Due to the coronavirus crisis, a private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Dr. John Franko to Duquesne Women's Basketball (c/o The Duquesne Athletic Fund) or to the Lupus Research Alliance.
