It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Kaplon (Youngstown, Ohio), who passed away on October 15, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Gerchak and Mary Gerchak (Yankulak); her husband Victor; and her siblings, Frank, John, Joseph, Judge Michael Gerchak, Marie Gerchak, Sophie Novak and Rose Gerchak.

She is survived by: her niece Irene Scullen of New Middletown; her nephew Robert Novak (Kimberly) of Poland; her great-nephew Mark Melnick (Alice Sorensen) of New York City; and her sister-in-law Rosie Gerchak of Howland.

The family requests that all attending calling hours and the funeral mass wear masks due to the continuing Covid pandemic.
