He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Rhoads and Cardelia Rhoads; and his siblings, Floyd, Charles, Burel Rhoads, Viola Dakin, Mary Jane Hamilton and Louise Rhoads.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia (Phillips); and his daughters, Sylvia Bowers (Dave), Sarah Rhoads and Delores Kohler (Eric). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
