He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lawrence Briggs and Minnie Williams Briggs; his former wife Mary Macenko Briggs; his wife Emmie Briggs; his sister Jessie Haught; and his half-siblings, Alice Stull, Geneva Carpenter, Goldie Stull, David Briggs and Lawrence Briggs.
He is survived by: his daughter Pamela Briggs of Woodsfield.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 – 4:00 p. m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p. m. Thursday, January, 14, 2021 where funeral and military services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, January 15, 2021 with Rev. William Abrams officiating with social distancing and facial coverings encouraged.
