He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence D. Crothers and Adeline M. Cramer Crothers; his wife Elizabeth A. Kotora Crothers; his sister Violet Terpenning; and his brother-in-law Paul Terpenning.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Mathieu (Richard) of Bloomingdale and William D. "Bill" Crothers Jr. of Wintersville; his grandchildren, Erica Mathieu-Moorman (Jeff) of Cincinnati and Brandon Mathieu of Dayton; and his great grandchild Grace Elizabeth Moorman.
