He is survived by: his wife Opal Shoemaker (Rhoades); his son Eldon Lee Shoemaker II; his granddaughters, Claire Howell (John) and Jessica Kemper (Jeremy); his great grandchildren, Liam, Astrid Howell, CJ and Camden Vesper; his siblings, William and Carolyn Sue Shoemaker; and his friend Nanci Haecker.
