She was predeceased by: her husband Hartsell C. Eaton; her sons, Michael L. Spears and Timothy S. Eaton; her brother Charles W. Wilson; and her daughter-in-law Carolyn L. Spears.

She is survived by: her sister Barbara Harris (James) of Alabama; and her children, Rosie Conky (Gary), Amy Zornes (Terry), Ashley Stimmer (Ray), Greg Spears and Mark Eaton (Rachel). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

Memorial Contributions in Sonja's honor may be gifted to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the ALS Foundation.
