He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell J. Shaeffer and Ruth Shaeffer (Walton); and his siblings, Donald (Millie), James (Eileen), Homer, Mary Jane Clark (Ray), Ruth Dixon (Delbert) and Ida May Hunter (Bud).
He is survived by: his wife Anna Shaeffer (Thivener); his children, David (Brenda), Gary (Sherri), Kent (Samira) and Deanna (Doug); his grandchildren, Matthew Shaeffer, Leanna Renninger (Jay), Robert Coalter, Christopher Shaeffer and Tim Shaeffer (Ali); his great grandchildren, Mike, Nathan, Lane and Phoenix; and his sisters, Dorothy Witham (Emerson), Judy Shaeffer and Linda Sloan.
